The Apostolic World Conference is held once every four years, with 2013 being Ghana’s first time of hosting the event.

The four-day conference, which began on October 29 and ends on November 1, 2013, is on the theme: “Belting the globe with the gospel”.

The Apostolic Church grew out of the Pentecostal Movement nearly 100 years ago.  The next world conference will be in celebration of the church’s centenary and will be held in 2016 in the United Kingdom (UK).

The President of the Apostolic Church, Ghana, Apostle Ebenezer N. Abebrese, called on Apostolic participants to use the power of the gospel to create awareness and spread the faith.

He also called on them to do God’s work with humility, knowledge and zeal.

According to him, in belting the gospel across the world, there was the need for them to shy away from excuses.

“Let us work hard, let us penetrate the world with our message,” he added.

He said it was only through the preaching of the truth to people that the truth would set people free.

“Please let us go out there and belt the globe with the gospel for the world is looking up to us,” he said.

The National Leader, Apostolic Church, UK, Apostle Emmanuel Mbakwe, in a message to the congregation, said it was his prayer that “in a world characterised by division”, the Apostolic Church would lead the way in ensuring unity across the world.

He also called on them to live by the tenets of the Apostolic faith, which is prayer.

He was of the hope that at the end of the conference, the world would not be the same again but that there would be peace across all nations.

There were fraternal messages from the Apostle General of the RoyalHouse Chapel, Reverend Sam Kuranchi Ankrah, on behalf of the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council; the General Secretary of the Church of Pentecost, Apostle Nana Yaw Kumi-Larbi; the General Secretary of the Bible Society of Ghana, Rev. Erasmus Odonkor; and Dr Robert Ampeaw Kwofie on behalf of the National Association of Charismatic Churches.
