Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City Accra has hosted the third edition of its “Inspiring Women” programme to mark International Women’s Day, bringing together business leaders, academics and young professionals to promote mentorship and women’s empowerment.

Held under the theme “Give to Gain”, the event convened prominent female leaders and students to discuss leadership, visibility and wellbeing, while encouraging the next generation of women to pursue careers across various sectors.

Delivering the welcome address, the hotel’s General Manager, Silvia Rajniak, described the initiative as a growing platform for promoting female excellence and leadership in Ghana.

“Standing here as the first female general manager of this flagship property, I am a testament to the barriers we are breaking together,” she stated. “This year’s theme, ‘Give to Gain’, is a symbol of encouragement that when we offer mentorship and support to others, we build a stronger collective future.”

The programme featured three panel discussions focusing on leadership and influence, strategic visibility and personal wellbeing, offering participants insights into navigating professional challenges while maintaining balance.

Speakers included the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Stratcomm Africa, Esther Amba Numaba Cobbah; banking executive at United Bank for Africa, Miguela Beecham; founder of The Future of Ghana, Kezia Sanie Kermah; Ghanaian broadcaster and CEO of GDA Media Ltd, Oheneyere Gifty Anti; the hotel’s Director of Human Resources, Barbara Amissah; Managing Director of the World Trade Center Accra, Yvonne Botchey; and clinical psychologist Salim S. Wangabi.

During the discussions, a former participant shared how insights gained at last year’s edition motivated her to apply for an internship at the hotel, where she is currently gaining professional experience. Organisers said the account illustrated the programme’s goal of providing mentorship and opportunities that support young women entering the workforce.

Students from Ashesi University and Accra Technical University took part in the event, engaging panellists in discussions on leadership, professional development and gender equality.

The event was attended by the Guest of Honour, breast cancer surgeon and founder of Breast Care International, Dr Beatrice Wiafe, who joined participants in encouraging continued support for women’s advancement across sectors.

Organisers said the annual initiative has become a key element of the hotel’s corporate social responsibility efforts, aimed at connecting industry leaders with students and young professionals while fostering mentorship and career opportunities.
