Bills Microcredit Limited supported the 2026 Ga Mashie Homowo Health Walk with a contribution valued at GH¢350,000 as part of efforts to promote community development, healthy living and cultural activities.
The financial services company provided cash, 5,000 event shirts, drinking water, beverages and other logistics for the annual event, which was aimed at bringing together residents and communities to promote wellness and unity.
The Head of Operations at Bills Microcredit, Kweku Baah, said the company supported initiatives that improved the well-being of communities because stronger communities helped businesses and families to grow.
Mr Baah said the company’s support for the event was part of a partnership with Team Okintin Clan, which started in 2024 as a sponsorship arrangement and had grown into a collaboration based on shared values.
He said Bills Microcredit was not only focused on providing loans but also on creating opportunities for individuals and businesses to achieve their goals.
“We are in the business of financing ambition and unlocking opportunities for hardworking Ghanaians. Our support for this health walk shows our commitment to investing in people and communities,” he said.
He explained that the company served traders, young entrepreneurs, salaried workers and individuals who required financial support to expand their businesses or meet personal needs.

Mr Baah said Bills Microcredit continued to provide financial products, including startup loans, working capital loans, salary loans and emergency loans to help customers manage their financial needs.
He said the company believed that access to finance could help individuals grow their businesses, support their families and contribute to economic activity.
“Every customer who comes to us has a dream, whether it is expanding a shop, buying equipment or meeting an urgent financial need. We provide solutions that help them move forward,” he said.
The Ga Mashie Homowo Health Walk was scheduled for Saturday, August 1, 2026, as part of activities marking the Homowo festival, which celebrates the heritage and resilience of the Ga people.
Community participation
A leader of Team Okintin Clan, Nuumo Nikoi Amasah II, said the event was open to all residents within Ga Mashie and other communities on Ga land, regardless of their ethnic background.
He said communities, including Dansoman, Teshie and Osu, were expected to participate in the walk, which would begin at Mantsɛ Agbonaa near the Arts Centre before 8 a.m.
“The health walk welcomes everybody living on Ga land. It is not only for Ga people because everyone is invited to join and celebrate together,” he said.
He added that the event would feature live music performances, games and free health screenings at Bukom after the walk.
Nuumo Nikoi Amasah II said traditional leaders, queens and musicians were expected to participate in the activities to encourage more people to take part.
He said the health walk had become an important part of the Homowo celebrations by promoting healthy lifestyles while strengthening community ties.
“There will be health screenings, entertainment and opportunities for people to meet their traditional leaders and enjoy the celebrations. We want everyone to come and be part of it,” he said.
Bills Microcredit said it would continue to support community-based initiatives that aligned with its objective of contributing to social and economic development.
