Tryton Motors partners Jonina Ladies, Debibi United to boost Ghana football development

Tryton Motors has announced a strategic partnership with Jonina Ladies Football Academy and Debibi United Football Club as part of its commitment to promoting Ghanaian football and community development.

As the official automotive sponsor of both clubs, Tryton Motors will support youth empowerment, talent development, fan engagement, media campaigns and club activations aimed at promoting football and strengthening ties with supporters.

Additionally, as the official automotive sponsor of both clubs, Tryton Motors aims to strengthen the connection between the clubs and their communities while supporting the growth of both men's and women's football. 

The partnerships is the beginning of a long-term collaboration that will create lasting value for all stakeholders. 

Signing ceremony

The signing ceremony held in Accra on Tuesday, July 14, brought together representatives from the Ghana Football Association, Greater Accra Regional Football Association, the clubs as well as some players and supporters.

Notable among the attendees were CEO of Tryton Motors, Mr Jihad Hijazi, Group Business Development Director, Tryton Motors, Fadi Fattal, Group Operations Manager of JAC Motors, Mrs Mavis Opoku, Chairperson of Women’s FA Cup Committee, Rosalind Amoh, Chairman GARFA, Samuel Aboabiri, President of Jonina Ladies Football Academy, John Obiri Yeboah, CEO of Jonina Ladies Football Academy, Betty Crosby Mensah, President of Debibi United Football Club, Mr Alexander Ababio and CEO  of Debibi United Football Club, Mr Richard Ntow Djan. 

Investment in Ghana’s future

CEO of Tryton Motors, Jihad Hijazi described the company's sponsorship of Jonina Ladies Football Club and Debibi United Football Club as a long-term investment in people, talent, and the future of Ghanaian football rather than a conventional sponsorship deal.


Mr Hijazi said the partnerships are built on shared values of excellence, professionalism, trust, and youth development, with the goal of creating lasting opportunities for players and communities. 

He stressed that successful businesses have a responsibility to make a positive social impact beyond generating profits.

"As a responsible corporate institution, we believe that successful businesses have a responsibility that extends beyond the product they sell or the profits they make." 

"Real success is measured by the positive impacts we have on our communities and the opportunities we create for others to succeed. So on the back of our success, we need to ensure that others also succeed."

The CEO highlighted Tryton Motors' commitment to supporting both women's and men's football, noting that the company sees immense potential in women's football through Jonina Ladies and believes strong clubs like Debibi United are essential to developing Ghana's football future. 

He added that the partnerships represent a shared commitment to nurturing future champions, strengthening communities and advancing Ghanaian football through collaboration with the Ghana Football Association and other stakeholders.

"Every successful national team begins with strong clubs that invest in young talent, good leadership, and community development. At Triton Motors, we believe that the partnerships should never be viewed as merely transactions. The strongest partnerships are relationships built on trust, shared purpose, and mutual success," Mr Jihadi said.

Visibility

Mr Fadi Fattal said the partnership goes beyond brand visibility.

He mentioned that although the two clubs compete in different leagues, they share values of discipline, ambition, resilience, teamwork and excellence. 

Mr Fattal emphasised that the collaboration reflects the company's belief that investing in sports creates opportunities for young talent and contributes to stronger communities.

“As we officially announce two important sponsorships and partnerships that reflect our commitment to Ghanaian football and community development. Today is more than the signing of sponsorship agreements. It marks the beginning of a lasting partnership built on trust, on shared values, and a common vision for excellence," he said. 

"At Tryton Motors, we believe our responsibility goes beyond providing quality vehicles and mobility solutions. We are committed to investing in people, supporting talent, and contributing to initiatives that inspire young people and strengthen our communities," he added.

Representatives of the two clubs expressed profound gratitude the the management of Tryton Motors describing the new partnership with Tryton Motors as a timely opportunity and a shared responsibility to uphold the company's trust and reputation.

Jonina Ladies CEO, Betty Crosby Mensah assured the company that the club would promote the Tryton Motors brand with dignity, consistency, and creativity while maintaining discipline on and off the pitch.

She urged players to recognize that they now represent not only themselves and the club, but also the aspirations of young girls who see football as a pathway to success.

She also called on the media and supporters to help raise the profile of women's football, saying greater visibility would encourage more corporate investment in the women's game.

She expressed confidence that the partnership would deliver success for the club, value for the sponsor, and inspire more girls to pursue football.
