There is healthy competition in Kotoko: Opoku Nti

Opoku Nti, the General Manager of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, has lauded the healthy competition in the club’s squad, explaining that it is the secret behind their recent successes.

“It’s a new development in our team which is bringing out the best from the players”, he added.

“The players we have at our disposal are all fighting to cement their positions in the team and I think it’s a good sign for the club”, he explained.

The Porcupine Warriors have so far been impressive in the offseason, winning three trophies, the SWAG Cup, Kotoko 80th Anniversary Cup and the First Trust G6 Cup recently.

Kotoko last Saturday returned from Libya from a training tour with an impressive showing in two matches against Libya giants Al Ittihad. They lost 1-2 in the first match and drew goalless in the second game.

“It’s now unclear as to what will be Coach David Duncan’s starting line-up when the league takes off due to the intense competition for positions in the team.

“This time Coach Duncan will find it difficult to name his starting team. The commitment and competition in the team is very high, no player is ready to give his competitor chance to take his position.

This is the kind of Kotoko we have been craving for,” Opoku Nti stressed. — Ghanasoccernet.
