The company said it was part of its responsibility to ensure safety and comfort to the fans travelling on “these two credible institutions” and to create lasting memories in the minds of fans.

FIFA official airline, Emirates Airlines, and one of Ghana Football Association’s (GFA) accredited travel and tour company, Bahmed Travel and Tour, are partnering to airlift fans to the Mundial by a non-stop flight of seven hours, instead of the usual 20 hours.

The ‘tripartite partnership’, according to a speech by the CEO of Bahmed Travel and Tour, Alhaji Ahmed Bandoh, at its official launch last Thursday in Accra, endorsed its credibility.

At least 1,700 first class accommodation and internal transportation were secured last weekend after an agreement between the parties and Brazilian authorities were signed in Brasilia last week.

Various supporters groups, corporate bodies, chiefs and media practitioners thronged the premises of Bahmed Travel and Tour at the launch to begin their documentation procedures for visa acquisition.

Employment minister, Antwi Boasiako Sekyere, urged Ghanaians to be careful not to be swindled by the ‘sudden rise of unknown’ travel companies promising unimaginable packages to Brazil.

“At least, everybody knows Bahmed ‘s proven track record over the years and Emirates as well. A word to the wise is enough,” the minister said, urging fans to ‘do the right thing.’

Four groups of people are being targeted to be airlifted to Brazil under four different categories - platinum, gold, silver and bronze.

Alhaji Bandoh, fondly called Bahmed, is a football philanthropist and one-time GFA official travel and tour agent.
