Coca-Cola excites patrons, football fans with new promo

The Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Ghana, official soft-drink partner of the English Premier League has announced a mouth-watering promotion to reward its patrons and football fans.

The globally popular beverage maker on Wednesday unveiled an Under the Crown promotion in which about 1.5 million patrons of its 20cl or 30cl Coca Cola glass bottles with a yellow crown, stand to win instant rewards including free drinks, branded scarves, bags, jerseys and Samsung smartphones, while 15 lucky others will win fully-paid trips to London to watch an EPL match.

At the official promo announcement at the Coca Cola factory, Spintex near Tema, the Marketing and Innovations Director of the company, Sabina Manu said with the exception of the fully-paid London trip for the EPL match which is represented by an airplane under the cork, all the prizes are instantly redeemable.

“Free drinks are to be redeemed anywhere you see a ‘Free Drink Redemption’ sign,” she said, “while other prizes are to be redeemed at Distributors and Depots displaying the ‘Redeem Here’ banners.”

She said the promotion is open to residents and citizens of Ghana and that participants aged 13 years and below must be assisted by their parents or lawful guardians where necessary.

Additional rules for winners of the London trip stipulate that if winners choose not to make the trip, they will forfeit their win. They also cannot swap the win for cash but can nominate someone else for the trip or in case they are unsuccessful with their visa applications, they would be given the cash value, or in unforeseen circumstances such as sickness, the cash equivalent of the trip would be provided.

This year’s promo runs from 15th March to 31st May, 2019 and according to Mr. Seth Adu-Baah, Managing Director of Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Ghana, subsequent promo periods would be announced in keeping with its official three-year partnership with the EPL.
