See the areas that will be affected by ECG's planned maintenance on Wednesday (June 10)
The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced multiple power outages for Wednesday, June 10, 2026, affecting communities in the Ashanti, Tema, Accra East, Accra West and Volta Regions, with a combination of planned maintenance exercises and a transformer fault disrupting supply.
Ashanti Region outages
In the Ashanti Region, three separate planned maintenance exercises will take place on Wednesday. The first will run from 9:00am to 4:00pm, affecting Tikrom, Besease, Boankra, Kubease, Bonfa Junction, Bonfa Township, Asiwa and surrounding areas. A second will run from 9:00am to 3:00pm, affecting Apaa, Kyekyewere and surrounding areas. Both notices were originally issued on Friday, 5th June 2026.
Tema Region outage
In the Tema Region, planned maintenance will take place from 10:00am to 4:00pm, affecting a wide range of communities including the Sea Water Desalination Plant, Maranatha, Buade, Glow Lamp, Frimpongmaa Estates, Abrantie, Dan Adams, Coastal Estates, Basket, GCB Training School, Ataa Adama, Royal Ravico, Junction Mall, Regimanuel Estates, Parakuo Estates, Queensland International School, Kpoo Keke, Best Western Premier Hotel, Leisure Hours Hotel, and extensive parts of Nungua including Zongo, Township, Traditional Council, Polyclinic and Secondary School. Also affected are the Kpeshie Divisional Police Headquarters, Coco Beach, Main 1, Father's Hotel, C5 and surrounding areas.
Accra East Region outages
In the Accra East Region, two planned maintenance exercises are scheduled. The first will run from 9:00am to 4:00pm, affecting Dome Pillar 2, Dome Auntie Mary, East Airport International School and surrounding areas. The second will run from 9:00am to 5:00pm, affecting Doblo, Satellite, Sapeiman, Medie, Kotoku, Pobiman, Blue Skies, Hebron, Ahodwo, Fotobi, Pakrom, Obudan, Kwasikrom and surrounding areas.
Accra West Region outages
In the Accra West Region, planned maintenance will run from 9:00am to 5:00pm, affecting Kwasi Tenten, Asuaba, Anoff, Adeiso, Maame Dede, Coaltar, Dorkrochiwa, Danso, Ofankor Attah Mills, Ofankor Market, Government Hospital, Township, Omanjor, New Bortianor, Red Top and surrounding areas.
Additionally, a transformer fault has caused power outages in Dansoman St Anthony's, Bolla Junction, Della, Amasaman Education Service, Railways, Pokuase Adusah Quarters and surrounding areas. Engineers are working to rectify the fault.
Volta Region outage
In the Volta Region, planned maintenance will run from 9:00am to 3:00pm, affecting Sovie, Vakpo, Anfoegea, Wusuta, Aveme, Sabadu, Bume, Tsrekpe Botoku and surrounding areas.
Western Region emergency maintenance
In the Western Region, emergency maintenance will take place from 9:00am to 4:00pm, affecting Akoon, UEE, parts of Market Circle, Railway Quarters, Apinto Hospital, Cyanide, Kwabedu, Alhaji Dauda, New Atuabo, Budo City, Banso, Esuosu and surrounding areas.
ECG regrets inconvenience
ECG has expressed regret for the inconvenience that will arise from all these exercises. The company has advised affected customers to make alternative arrangements for power-dependent activities during the specified hours.
Engineers are working to restore power to areas affected by the transformer fault as quickly as possible. ECG assured that power supply would be restored to all affected areas upon completion of the scheduled works or rectification of the fault. Customers have been encouraged to report electrical hazards and to treat all fallen power lines as live and dangerous.
