CAF Confederation Cup: 10-man Dreams FC suffer defeat at Club Africain in group opener

Ghana’s representative in this year’s CAF Confederation Cup, Dreams FC lost 2-0 to Tunisian side, Club Africain in their opening group game at the Stade Olympique Hammadi Agreb.

The ‘Still Believe’ lads fell behind to the hosts as early as the 5th minute, courtesy of a strike from Algeria’s Meziani Tayeb.

The Tunisian side later doubled the lead through Nigerian striker, Edowu Kingsley in the 19th minute.

Dreams FC skipper Abdul Jalilu was booked on the 40th minute before the halftime break.

After recess, Jalilu received a second booking and was shown the exit with Dreams being reduced to 10 men.

However, Club Africain failed to take advantage of the numerical deficit as the result stood at 2-0 at the blast of the final whistle.

Dreams FC are in Group C alongside Club Africain of Tunisia, Nigeria's Rivers United and Academica Petroleos do Lobito of Angola

The Ghanaians will now take on Rivers United on December 3, 2023, in their second group game.
