Boadu, Salifu win Coach and Player of the Month in May

Accra Hearts of Oak won the double in May when their head coach, Samuel Boadu, and midfielder Ibrahim Salifu, were named as the NASCO Coach of the Month and NASCO Player of the Month for May, respectively.

A  statement issued by the Ghana Football Association said coach Boadu led Hearts to win five Premier League games and lost one, scoring eight and conceding two, making them jump from fifth to first in the Premier League table.

The statement said Boadu beats off competition from coaches Mariano Barreto of Asante Kotoko, Prosper Narteh-Ogum of WAFA and Yaw Preko of Medeama.

Boadu, onetime player of GHAPOHA and Berekum Arsenal, walks home with a 43-inch NASCO TV set, NASCO Men's grooming set, and a personalised trophy from the league's electronic partner.

Ibrahim Salifu has been a dominant player for Hearts this season

The statement named Ibrahim as the NASCO Player of the Month after an impressive start to life at Hearts of Oak, seeing off a challenge from Sam Adams and Ismail Abdul Ganiyu.

In May, Salifu won two Man of the Match awards and scored once, helping Hearts to climb to the top of the table.

The midfielder won a number of NASCO Man of the Match awards while at Techiman Eleven Wonders during the first round of the season before joining Hearts.

He will receive a NASCO TV set and a personalised trophy.
