Social distancing

The social distancing protocols were also observed at the ceremony held in Tamale yesterday to donate the items to support the government’s efforts against the spread of COVID-19 in the region and the country as a whole.

A special advisor to the minister, Nana Sarfo Kantanka, who handed over the items to the beneficiary constituencies on behalf of Dr Awal, said the gesture by the minister was his personal contributions towards the fight against the COVID-19 in the region.

He stated that the stringent measures put in place by the government with the support of Ghanaians would enable the country emerged out of the pandemic successfully.

Safety protocols

Nana Kantanka, was however, quick to remind the citizenry that the virus was real and, therefore, urged Ghanaians to play their part to help manage and control the spread of the virus by adhering to precautionary measures.

Those precautionary measures, he said, included practising the social distancing, washing of hands regularly under running water, the use of sanitisers, the consumption of local nutritious food and regular exercises.

He said the NPP government under President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo had worked hard to lay a solid foundation for the smooth economic take off of the country.

He expressed the hope that Ghanaians would give the President another four year term come December 7, 2020 to continue with the good work.

The Northern Regional First Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Alhaji Iddrisu Sunday, who received the items, thanked the minister for the gesture.
