Dannex Pharmaceuticals donates to Tesano police

Dannex Pharmaceuticals has presented three motorbikes and assorted medicines worth GH¢30,000 to the Tesano Divisional Police Command in Accra.

The donation was part of the company’s corporate social responsibility with the focus on helping the less privileged in society as well as to assist institutions in demanding circumstances.

Presenting the items, the Chief Corporate Affairs Manager of Dannex, Mr Kwasi Yirenkyi, said the pharmaceutical company decided to support the police service due to the valuable role the service played in maintaining peace and order in the country.

“As we all know, there has been an upsurge in criminal activities in our communities lately, and, the police, therefore, need resources to help them deal with this menace.

It is our hope that this donation will help in the fight against crime,’’ he said.

He described the police service as an essential entity that deserved to be given support to enable it perform more efficiently.

“The government is doing everything in its power to provide the police with enough tools for it to properly discharge its duties, but sometimes individuals and corporate bodies must also lend support,’’ he added.

The Tesano Divisional Police Commander, Chief Superintendent of Police Mr Oduro Amaning, received the items and thanked Dannex for the gesture.

He said the police had in place lots of strategies to deal with criminal activities in the country. “We need the support of the general public to effectively deal with miscreants who want to disturb the peace of the nation,’’ he said.
