Kumasi welcomes latest hospitality facility

It derived its name from the prestigious cash crop, cocoa, which has sustained the Ghanaian economy for decades; this has also led to the accolade “Golden Bean”.

Golden Bean Hotel, this fresh and exquisite hotel, is located within a serene environment of Nhyiaeso at the Garden City which is also the seat of the Golden Stool of the Ashantis.

It was not surprising that when the current occupant of the Golden Stool, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, who was highly enthused by the imposing edifice at first glance, noted that if he had the permission of his elders he would have spent a day or two at the hotel.

Otumfuo Osei Tutu passed this jovial comment when he personally, together with his entourage, cut the tape to signify the inauguration of the Golden Bean Hotel.

Inspired by the high quality services, the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Madam Dzifa Gomashie, urged the management to replicate the hotel in her hometown in the Volta Region.

The hotel has already carved a name for itself and is gradually worming itself to become the preferred destination for both business and leisure guests as well as organisers of very important functions.

The lush 51-room hotel is located 15 minutes’ drive from the Kumasi Airport, five minutes away from both the VIP station and the famous Kumasi Central Market, with a fire station just two minutes away.

Accommodation

The rooms are made up of executive suites, deluxe rooms, superior (include universal access and family) and standard rooms and are all decorated in an inviting turn-of-the-century style, with dark wood furnishings, white crown mouldings, stylish light fixtures, muted colour schemes, and authentic artwork by noted Ghanaian artists.

Meeting facilities

Golden Bean Hotel boasts three meeting rooms. The Van Houten Boardroom, Mayan Conference Room and Tetteh Quarshie Conference Room which are all furnished with full audio-visual services. An additional outdoor space featuring the Atta-Krah Terrace is available for meetings.

In honour of the legendary Tetteh Quarshie, who brought the first cocoa bean from Fernando Po, the management has named the 1,347 square feet conference room which can accommodates 200 people, with a theatre setup, after him.

The Bired, a 775 square meter meeting room, can house 25 guests. Executive-level meetings can also be conducted in this state-of-the art boardroom that features the latest broadcast and telecommunications technology.

Guestroom amenities

In consonance with its avowed vision to maintain international standards, the guestrooms have amenities which include tiled bathrooms with bathtubs, standing showers, shaving sockets, full length mirror, lavish bath amenities, ultra-plush, luxurious terry towels, luxury bathrobes, feather-top duvet-beds with 400-thread-count bed linens and sitting couch.

Others are in-room tea/coffee facility, multi-telephone lines, electronic safe, 32-inch colour LCD flat panel televisions, a mini-bar and wireless Internet.

Domes

Golden Bean Hotel has two domes; each comes with a capacity of 800 and provides an ideal facility for conferences, banquets and other events with large numbers of people. The well-decorated, fully air-conditioned domes offer a touch of glamour and beauty with class for all business and social events.

Other facilities available are a swimming pool, a gymnasium, a shop and a business centre. Other services include secretarial, a concierge, airport shuttle, turndown service (excluding standard rooms), a 24-hour in-room dining, daily laundry/valet service, dry-cleaning service, buffet: for breakfast, lunch and dinner

Adehyee Gardens

For additional meeting space, the Adehyee Garden can host private functions up to 800 guests. This event garden is an impressive space for hosting receptions and theme events. A dedicated convention services and banquet team is available to attend to all special event details.

Montezuma Restaurant

Restaurant services at the Golden Bean is a landmark in Kumasi and its environs for African and international cuisines. Opened from 6:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m., Montezuma provides breath-taking multifaceted buffet which is an ultimate treat for the senses.

It is a continuous celebration of the journey called life through a variety of buffet meals that begin with breakfast, goes on to lunch and finally crescents in a buffet spread dinner.

The restaurant also serves a la carte menu, intimate, and casual yet elegant. It is a perfect place to unwind while feasting on a culinary range in a spectacular view.

Enchi Bar

Opened between the hours of 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., the Enchi bar, a 27 capacity inn with its extensions to the main lobby, is an ideal place to mix business with pleasure or to just unwind after a hectic day of decisions and negotiations.

A fine selection of cocktails, brandies, scotch, malts and wines combined with an interesting selection of international cuisine makes Enchi the ultimate bar experience.

New Edubiase Bar

This beautiful bar near the poolside comes with a bluff for your relaxation. It is also available for assorted drinks and entertainments.
