The Prestige project, which is expected to be completed in the next three years, will have about 415 apartments of different sizes, shopping arcade as well as sitting park and it will be constructed by civil engineering and building construction company, Micheletti.
The short ceremony held on Monday, December 11, 2023 brought together dignitaries including the Chief Director at the Ministry of Works and Housing, Rev. Stephen Osei, Business Consultant and Special Advisor to the Ghana Airport Company, Captain Budu Koomson, Chairman of i2 Development Company, Nabil Alahmad, Co-founder and Managing Director of i2 Development, Youssef Aitour and Managing Director of Micheletti, Ernest Taricone.
Fostering economic growth
Speaking at the event last Monday, Mr Alahmad said the importance of modern, sustainable, plush offices, residential properties, and hotels within the Kotoka International Airport vicinity could not be overstated when it came to the growth of tourism, aviation and allied businesses.
He said his outfit chose the airport city for the project because it was one of the premium areas where the property would be much appreciated.
“These properties play a crucial role in supporting and attracting visitors, facilitating travel and fostering economic development,” he said.
“We believe the property will be appreciated, especially in a country like Ghana which is stable and a promising growing economy,” he added.
Employment opportunities
Rev. Stephen Osei said the project signified the government’s commitment to partner the private sector to deliver affordable houses for all Ghanaians, adding that the project would create employment opportunities for Ghanaians.
“This project shows government’s commitment to partner the private sector to deliver houses for all classes of people. I am sure this project is going to be for all classes of people and it is going to create a lot of employment for the benefit of Ghanaians,” he said.
“We wish i2 Development and all their partners well in this project and we pray for God’s blessings as we begin to cut the sod today that the good Lord will shower his blessings upon it and all the resources needed shall be granted,” he added.
For his part, Mr Taricone assured of his outfit’s commitment to construct an edifice of high quality to match the status of the vicinity where it would be located.
“This project is going to be a landmark development in Accra. The design is excellent and it’s to the highest specification and standards with the best materials.”
“Our company, Micheletti, is known for high quality and we plan to do the same and even better over here, and within three years we should complete it,” he said.
