Enzo Maresca has praised Antoine Semenyo’s start to the season after Man City won their first two matches.
The Ghanaian international winger has started all five of City’s competitive games so far this campaign, contributing assists in the Premier League wins over Crystal Palace and Coventry.
While he’s not yet found the net himself, Maresca says Semenyo is doing everything that’s being asked of him in and out of possession.
“He’s giving us a lot in terms of on the ball and off the ball,” said the boss in Friday’s press conference.
“If you see the first goal we scored at Palace it was his cross. Coventry it was his assist.
“He’s working very well on the ball and off the ball. He’s helping a lot the team.”
Maresca also insisted that despite the fact Semenyo only arrived at the club in January, he is an important part of his squad.
“Marc [Guéhi] now is one of the captains and Antoine now is a senior player in this moment,” he stated.
