LadyStrikers, Ampem Darkoa for final - Real Upper, Holy Royals suffer relegation

DEFENDING champions, Ampem Darkoa Ladies have qualified for their third successive final despite losing 1-2 to Lepo Ladies in their final game of this season’s National Women’s League (NWL).

Ampem Darkoa, champions in the northern zone, will play LadyStrikers in the champions play-off on October 7 after the Cape Coast-based team also shrugged off competition to win the southern zone league.

With Hasaacas Ladies out of contention for this season’s competition, it was a three-horse race among LadyStrikers, Elmina Sea Lions and Immigration Ladies, but in the end, the Cape-Coast-based team showed more hunger and consistency to win 2-1 over Police Ladies last Saturday.

While the champions revel in their glory and look forward to the champions play-off, Real Upper Ladies and Holy Royals have been relegated having finished bottom in the respective zones.

Real Upper only managed to secure four points from the 14 matches played in the northern zone, while Holy Royals, who made their debut this season, could not survive on their one point from a possible 42 points.
Apart from the Lepo Ladies win over Ampem Darkoa, there were no shocking results as the league came to an end.
