Frimpong believes the Porcupine Warriors can make a huge impact in next season's CAF Confederation Cup if they are able to land a big name striker to support Saddick Adams in attack.

In a chat with the Graphic Sports yesterday, Frimpong said he was hoping to stay with the club despite interest from Nigerian giants, Enyimba FC, to sign him ahead of the new campaign.

"We have a good team but I want management to consider strengthening the attacking options to help conquer Africa in the CAF Confederation Cup.

"It would be good to have a big name striker join us to support Saddick Adams in attack. I am hoping to stay with Kotoko despite interest from Enyimba," he noted.

The Porcupine Warriors over-relied on the club's top scorer Adams, who scored 12 goals in all competitions for Kotoko, despite joining the team in the second round of the season.

Adams scored seven goals in the Premier League and five in the MTN FA Cup, including a famous hat-trick against arch rivals Hearts of Oak in the historic final at the Tamale Sports Stadium on October 29.

When asked whether he had a particular striker in mind for Kotoko, Frimpong said it was Coach Steve Polack's job to request for a player who would suit his plans.
