A release from the company and signed by the Head of Corporate Communications at Airtel Ghana, Mr Donald Gwira commended the players for continuing to blaze the path that another Airtel Rising Star, Priscilla Okyere started last year.

The release said Priscilla Okyere was a participant of the maiden edition of Airtel Rising Stars maiden edition four years ago and she led the Black Maidens to win Africa’s first medal at a FIFA organized event for women, scoring the winning goal; against Germany in the process.

“What we are seeing further gives credence to the dreams that we set out to achieve with ARS. It is our dream that through ARS we shall give more opportunities for a lot more people to experience football at a level they are not usually used to”, Mr Gwira said.

He added that the 2014 edition of ARS will soon be launched.
