4 Garrison host tennis stars on Farmers Day

As Ghanaians celebrates farmers tomorrow on Farmers Day, the famous 4 Garrison Officers Mess Tennis Club is rolling off yet another exciting competition for tennis lovers especially members of the club at the Garden City.

The competition is to test the capabilities of individual players in men’s and ladies’ singles, as well as the doubles and mix doubles. 

It will feature crack amateurs such as Dr Aaron Ofei, Samuel Taylor, Joseph Yeboah Kordie, Kofi Afum-Baffoe and Samuel Ampadu-Kyei, all key players of the club.

Also expected to hit hard on the racket would be Robert Tetteh, Isaac Otoo, Kwasi Dekyi, Nana Attakora, Thomas Owusu Ansah, Peprah Sarpong and Col. Adu Boampong (acting GOC, Northern Command).

In the ladies division, a new wonder kid, Dzifa Ahorlu, is tipped to cause a major upset against top seed Brenda Suntinga. It will also feature Dr Rabiatu Abdulai.

According to the President of the club, Mr Samuel Ampadu-Kyei (Kyikyiss), plans were afoot to cater for everybody including fans to keep the interest high in the all-day competition.

The occasion is also to fraternise with the general public and to sell out the sport to budding talents.
