Maxwell Konadu is hoping for another great show from his players when Ghana and Benin face off in a second Group A game of the GoTv WAFU Cup at the Baba Yara Stadium today.
The home-based national team got off to a blistering start in the competition with a 4-1 thrashing of Sierra Leone to move to top of the standings.
The Ghanaian coach believes the team has the wherewithal to repeat the show against Benin today.
Touting the championship stuff exhibited by the team, Konadu told the post-match press conference after the first group game last Thursday that, he was impressed with the manner the team quickly recovered from the early goal they conceded to post that convincing victory.
The competition had so far witnessed poor attendance and organisers are expecting a highly improved patronage today against Benin.
Not even the decision to open gates free for schoolchildren has been able to draw the fans to the stadium, which has been a headache to organisers.
Nonetheless, the home-based national team have a task to perform to send the signals clear that they are in to fight for the ultimate.
Benin who drew 2-2 with Burkina Faso in the other Group A game last Thursday, will be going out fighting for a win to brighten their chances of getting closer to the cup.
The Ghana team played minus trusted warriors like Jordan Opoku and Atobra Asiedu in the first game but the two are expected to play a part in the Benin game.
With players like Theophilus Anobaa, Sulley Mohammed, Latif Mohammed, Nuru Sulley and keeper Foli Adade in top shape, Ghana are up for another victory to maintain their position of the group.
