The Vice Chairman of the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA), Isaac Koomson, has described Ghana's 2-1 defeat by the USA as a big blow which has thrown the team's chances of progressing from the difficult Group G off balance.
Speaking to the Daily Graphic at the Bello Mare Hotel in Natal yesterday, the visibly disappointed head of security of the Kenpong Travel and Tours team said he believed the Black Stars had chosen a difficult path towards qualification after losing a match they should have won hands down.
“If we think the US have beaten us and so we are going to organise ourselves and come back, then we can also trust the world best footballer Cristiano Ronaldo to also organise himself well and come back fighting after Portugal had lost 0-4 to Germany,” he asserted.
He also blamed the Stars defeat on poor accommodation arrangements and some selection errors on the part of the FA and Coach Kwasi Appiah respectively.
“I also think Kevin should have started because of his quality. Pairing Gyan and Jordan was problematic for me,” the police officer stated.
