Kotoko land GH¢360,000 Superbet deal
Premier League leaders, Kumasi Asante Kotoko, have signed a three-year sponsorship deal with Superbet, a sports betting company, worth GHc120,000 a year.
Acting CEO of Kotoko, Opoku Nti, and Opong Yeboah of Suberbet, signed for their respective organisations at a ceremony in Kumasi last Monday.
Despite the new deal, communication giants, MTN, are still the headline sponsors of the club with lots of auxilliary sponsors to help cushion the club with seven matches to end the First Capital Plus league.
Kotoko said they had been struggling financially and saw the Superbet deal as welcoming news.
Indeed, the club have been disappointed by the Premier League Board’s announcement of no cash for the league champions and believe this would be a morale booster for the players to give of their best to retain the title.
As part of their contractual obligations, Kotoko will place the Supabets logo at the back of their official jerseys to give the betting company brand visibility.
