Black Stars defender, Samuel Inkoom, is looking for yet another opportunity to feature at the World Cup, saying he will take the opportunity to help push Ghana beyond the previous quarter-finals record.
Ahead of today’s announcement of the World Cup squad by Coach Kwasi Appiah, Inkoom, last Saturday told the Graphic Sports that he would be happy if Coach Appiah included him in his charges for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil which kicks off next month.
The former Kumasi Asante Kotoko full back disclosed that because he found his appearance at the World Cup crucial, he decided to leave Ukranian side, FC Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk, on loan for Greek side, Platanias, to put his struggling career back on track.
He said, the move had been profitable as he had played 15 successive games for Platanias.
“Of course I’m not nervous about missing out of the squad. I moved to Platanias and got the playing time needed for a World Cup appearance.
“I have 15 successive 90minute games under my belt which tells you I’m very fit and active and my career is also back on track,” he stressed.
