The Managing Director (MD) of Accra Hearts of Oak, Neil Armstrong-Mortagbe, has promised to offer new roles for the support staff who parted ways with the club last week.
Addressing the media ahead of today’s league game against Ashantigold, Mr Amstrong-Mortagbe said there was mutual understanding between the management of the club and the support staff to part ways to strenghen the technical staff, but assured that the doors were always open for their return to the club.
The Hearts boss also used the platform to introduce the new technical staff namely: Yaw Amankwaa Mireku (team manager), Eben Dida Armah (goalkeepers’ trainer) and James Commey Bortsie (physiotherapist).
“We assessed all areas of the club, and as part of organisational restructuring, we decided to bring in our former club stalwarts to move Hearts forward. We mutually agreed to part ways with the former staff, but they could come back to improve our scouting network,” he assured.
Goalkeepers’ trainer, Dida, said Hearts fans should expect a change after three matches. Mr Armstrong-Mortagbe added that he had observed the club from afar and was ready to assist the club’s goalkeepers, especially Philemon McCarthy, to attain greater heights.
The new team manager and former club captain, Mireku, also disclosed that he had been interacting with the players and offering them pieces of advice on how to improve upon their games since the start of the season.
For his part, James Commey Bortsie said he had been working for the club unofficially, and therefore hoped to make an impact in his new role.
