GHANSU donates food items to members

The executives of the Ghana National Supporters Union (GHANSU) led by Abraham Boakye, known in sporting circles as 'One Man Supporter', has donated assorted food items to support the less-privileged members of the union nationwide amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

The items which included rice, oil, tins of sardine, tomatoe paste, spaggheti and toiletries are valued at GHC12,000.

Purpose of donation
Speaking at the presentation ceremony at the GHANSU office at Tesano yesterday, Mr Boakye recounted how some executives approached him on the need to undertake that initiative to support their members in these trying moments.

Although the members are scattered across the country, the current restrictions had made things difficult for them to make ends meet due to the nature of their work, hence the decision by the executives to support them with the package.

He said the donation was to mitigate the plight of members and also keep them from moving about anyhow to contract the virus.
Jeffery Gyedu, a GHANSU member who was involved in a road accident last week, was the first to receive a donation.

Guest’s remarks
The guest of honour for the ceremony, Nana Kwaku Okyere Makralo of Adjin Kotoku, in his remarks commended One Man Supporter and his executives for reaching out to their colleagues when it mattered most.

He also encouraged their members to regularly follow all the safety protocols to stay safe.
