Daniel Adjei Vows to Topple Kwarasey As Ghana's Number One
The U-20 World Cup-winning keeper said Ghana’s time had come to win the continental trophy, stating that he and his colleagues would be going to South Africa with next year having in mind the high expectations of Ghanaians to win the trophy for the fifth time.
“We are aware Ghanaians are expecting us to bring the Cup home next year but with God on our side and hard work we would ensure we win and bring the trophy to Ghana” he said.
Until the arrival of Kwarasey on the scene, Adjei had assumed the second choice Black Stars goalie after the experience Richard Kingson.
He was the No.2 man under former national coach, Milovan Rajevac at he 2010 World Cup in South Africa. However, he dropped down the pecking order when Goran Stevanovic took over the national team and eventually lost his playce to Ernest Sowah of Berekum Chelsea due to inactivity on the local scene.
