Bechem United are expected in Accra today to commence preparation towards their trip to Europe next year.
As part of their preparation, the team is expected to play a series of friendly games with Liberty Professionals on Sunday, Medeama SC on Monday and the national Under-23 side on Thursday.
This according to the club owner, Kingsley Owusu Achau, was to keep them in shape ahead of their trip to Europe which is expected to expose the players to modern facilities and provide them the platform to market themselves.
The club is expected to fly out early next year to participate in the Gothia Cup, the world’s largest international youth competition opened to young players from over 80 countries.
Meanwhile the club has parted ways with their head coach, Tom Strand, after he nurtured ambitions of joining Medeama SC.
He becomes the second expatriate coach to have left the Bechem club after MIlislav Bogdanovic also switched allegiance to Aduana Stars two seasons ago.
Strand’s dismissal comes after he was caught flirting with Medeama SC and applied to join the team after reports suggested that Coach Kwasi Appiah would name Prince Yaw Owusu, the Medeama coach as his assistant at his new club in Khartoum
