Bafana gear up for CAR challenge

Bafana Bafana will leave for Cameroon on Tuesday for Saturday's match against the Central African Republic in Yaounde.Bafana Bafana should prepare themselves for a more hostile reception during their two forthcoming FIFA World Cup qualifiers than the friendly atmosphere they encountered in Lesotho this weekend.

The team returned from the Lesotho capital Maseru earlier on Monday following the 2-0 victory in the international friendly.

In Lesotho, it didn't feel as if Bafana Bafana were playing away from home. The playing conditions were favourable and the team had good support in the stands.

But that's not going to be the case in Cameroon on Saturday, while the reception in Addis Ababa eight days later for the game against Ethiopia could be even more intimidating.

Bafana Bafana Defender, Bevan Fransman, “I'd rather play in Cameroon than at the Central African Republic at the moment. So that's the positive and we have to go with that. Conditions; you can't change them. You have to go through them and face it, come out the other side."

Maximum points from two matches away from home will be hard to come by, but losing is not an option for Gordon Igesund and his men.

Ricardo Nunes says, however, losing is not on their minds.

"We're just thinking about winning, go for the target. Everyone wants to be in the World Cup. Everyone wants to achieve this big moment for the country."
