Stop violent acts - Communications Minister tells NPP
The Minister of Communication, Mrs Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, has asked members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) who use violence in their crave for job opportunities to stop such acts in the interest of national peace and security.

She said even though the government had advanced steps to create jobs for the teeming youth in the country, violent confrontations by some youth painted a negative image of the President and the party.
"Majority of Ghanaians voted for President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo because of the confidence they have in him, so we need a peaceful atmosphere to undertake the numerous development projects that will create jobs for the teeming youth. You do not have to take the law into your hands and engage in violence because such an attitude paints a bad picture of the President and the NPP," she said.
Mrs Owusu-Ekuful made the call when she addressed hundreds of NPP members at this year's constituency annual delegates conference at Ablekuma West in Accra last Saturday.
The conference
The constituency annual delegates conference of the NPP is a requirement under section 6 (14) of the party's constitution which calls for the constituency annual delegates conference to be held at least four weeks to the regional conference.
It is a platform for members of the party to take stock of their activities for the previous year and to strategise for the future.
The financial standings of the party at the constituency level are also determined at the conference, which is also a platform for resolutions to be made and forwarded to the region.
Present at the conference were key party functionaries drawn from the national, regional and constituency level, as well as government officials.
Notable among them were the acting General Secretary of the NPP, Mr John Boadu; the Chief Executive of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA), Mr Mohammed Nii Adjei Sowah; the Member of Parliament (MP) for Ablekuma Central, Mr Ebenezer Nartey, and the Director of the National Information and Technology Agency (NITA), Mr Jeff Konadu Addo.
Good intentions
Mrs Owusu-Ekuful said President Akufo-Addo had very good intentions for the country's development so party members who had grievances should use party structures rather than violence to address them.
