PNC targets 100 votes at every polling station
The General Secretary of the People's National Convention (PNC), Mr Atik Mohammed, has said the party is targeting 100 votes at every polling station to win this year's general election.

He, therefore, tasked supporters of the party to intensity their campaign and to make sure that on election day, each member of the party goes along with five defected members of other political parties to vote for the PNC.
Mr Atik said this at the campaign launch of the PNC parliamentary candidate for the Bolgatanga Central Constituency, Mr Thomas Akurugu, at Sirigu in the Upper East Region.
The campaign launch was attended by the Chairman and the first Vice Chairman of the party, Mr Bernard Mornah and Dr Michael Wumbego, respectively, as well as some national, regional and constituency executive members of the party.

The general secretary said the widespread youth unemployment and economic challenges the country was experiencing was as a result of leadership failure and added the PNC would win the election to restore hope to Ghanaians.
He said the PNC would empower the youth through education, as well as create jobs to ensure they got out of individual and societal poverty.

He promised that the presidential candidate of the party shall be back on the ballot paper in spite of the party’s temporary challenges.
Mr Mohammed called on the party faithful to remain peaceful no matter the provocations, indicating that " they will insult and attack you but remain peaceful," this is the unique attribute of the party,he emphasised.
Mr Mornah said Mr Akurugu was best qualified among the candidates to deliver development to the people of the Bolgatanga Central Constituency.
He said Mr Akurugu was a candidate who drew support from both the NDC and the NPP and was sure of winning the seat for the party.
The parliamentary candidate promised to create jobs for the unemployed youth and women in the constituency when elected.
He said he had already drilled some boreholes in some communities within the constituency and also supporting students with their education and promised setting up an entrepreneurship fund to support women engaged in small-scale businesses in the constituency.
