Nduom tours Upper West

The Presidential Candidate of the Progressive People's Party (PPP), Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom, on Saturday evening began   a campaign tour of the Upper West Region with a call on the people not to allow money to influence the direction of their votes.

He said since the impact of a wrong vote lasted more than a day, it was extremely crucial for the voting population to vote based on competence and not monetary rewards offered by politicians.

"If they give you GH¢50 or GH¢100  to vote for them, ask yourself if the amount is enough to improve your life for the next four years. If not, be bold to reject it," Dr Nduom told the supporters who met him on his arrival.

He said no amount of money offered them could make up for the unbearable hardship they would endure should they vote for such politicians.

"Let your vote bring you profits because it is the only power you have to decide the next four years of your life,’’ Dr Nduom said.

Courtesy calls

Led by some of the PPP executives in the region, Dr Nduom paid a courtesy call on the Muslim community in the region.

He used the occasion to also introduce the parliamentary candidates of the party in the region.

Some of them were the Wa Central parliamentary candidate, Mr James K. Sohimnye, and Mr Ban Saliah, who is contesting the Wa East constituency.

The Upper West Region is one of the strongholds of the National Democratic Congress (NDC). Out of the 11 constituencies, 10 of the seats are occupied by the NDC with the remaining seat being occupied by an independent candidate.

Be awake

Addressing the leadership of the Muslim community at the Wa Central constituency, Dr Nduom said it would be to their disadvantage to continue to vote for the NDC, knowing that their votes would not bring them any gains.

He said the fact that they had given their votes to the NDC, in times past, did not mean they were bound to continue forever.

"If you want to vote, vote for someone you believe can help address the development challenges in your community and also improve your wellbeing,’’ Dr Nduom said.

According to him, the PPP was the only alternative party to restore the lost hope of the people after the NDC had turned its back against them.

Dr Nduom also urged the people to vote for his party's parliamentary candidates because they were the men the region needed to attain their economic growth.

"PPP candidates under my leadership will never disappoint you’’, Dr Nduom assured.
