The ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) Tuesday morning started vetting 106 parliamentary aspirants in the Ashanti Region.
The event is aimed at scrutinizing the various aspirants who filed their nominations to contest in the Party’s primary on November 7, to check if they qualify.
The 106 aspirants are made up of 12 females and 94 males. They include one current and one former minister, 14 metropolitan, municipal and district chief executives.
Four incumbent MPs are being challenged. Each constituency is allotted an hour for the vetting of all the aspirants by the Kofi Adams vetting Committee.
According to Graphic Online's reporter, Donald Ato Dapatem the exercise is taking place at the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council (ARCC) where hundreds of NDC supporters and parliamentary hopefuls have gathered.
Former Ashanti Regional Minister Samuel Sarpong arriving at the RCC for his vetting. Mr Sarpong is seeking to contest at the Nhyiaeso constituency in Kumasi.
