NDC primaries: All the stats you must know

The five leading bases of the National Democratic Congress

 As the National Democratic Congress goes to the polls to elect parliamentary candidates for the 2016 polls, data released by the party indicates it has the Volta Region as the biggest base of the party, with 360,678 registered voters.

The Northern Region follows with 321,853 registered members, ahead of the Greater Accra Region with 243,194.

With as many as 106 aspirants seeking the party's mandate in the Northern Region, the region takes the lead with the highest number of aspirants, followed by the Greater Accra Region with 100 and the Ashanti Region with 93.

Again the Volta Region leads the pack with the highest number of female contestants at 14. But closely behind are the Greater Accra and Ashanti regions.
