He said it was important to note that the young assembly was challenged in many ways and needed dedicated servants.

The Member of Parliament for the area, Mr. Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah said it was important to note that there were still several development issues confronting the district despite the achievements over the years.

The MP said the northern part of the district needed roads while there was the need to improve the lives of the electorate.

“We have to work as a team for the development of the district. Your endorsement of the incumbent DCE shows clearly the high level of cohesion which is much needed to move the district forward,” he said.

He promised to work closely with DCE and all members of the assembly to ensure that the district became the best, with a formidable team working to improve the lives of the people of the region in the areas of health, education and job creation among others.

In a victory statement, Mr Eshun thanked members of the assembly for the confidence reposed in him and assured them that he would continue to work closely to advance the cause of the district.

“Our district is young, but with team spirit, we will become the best and I will ensure that transparency and accountability became our guiding principle to ensure that our people get the best,” he said.

The Ellembelle district was carved out of the Nzema East Municipality in 2008 under LI 1918 with Nkroful, about 82 kilometers from Takoradi as the district capital.

The main occupations of the people are fishing, cocoa growing, trading, and in recent times small scale mining.
