He intimated that he would assist smaller waste management companies with equipment and logistics and also ensure the payment of outstanding funds owed waste management contractors.
Dr Agyepong who has already assisted the association to set up an office at East Legon says he will work with other executives to ensure that an executive secretary is employed.
The outgoing President of ESPA, Nana Ama Adobea, who has now been elected vice president of the association, has also promised to throw her weight behind the newly elected president to ensure that the fight against filth yields fruits.
Dr Siaw Agyepong is a seasoned Ghanaian entrepreneur and industrialist who has received many awards and honours in his career. In November 2011, the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology conferred an honorary doctorate degree in Literature on him for his contribution to waste management and higher education in Ghana.
Other elected executives of ESPA are John Hagan of Darben Cleaning Services, Secretary; Edward Asadu of Asadu Waste, Treasurer and Anthony Adopko of J. Stanley Owusu, Organiser.
They all pledged their support and loyalty to the association.
The Environmental Service Providers Association was formed in 2001. It has a membership of 17 waste management contactors and a vision to promote environmental sanitation activities and support one another in the delivery of sanitation services.
