West Africa Nobles Forum amends constitution

A statement issued in Accra said the current Deputy Chairman of the forum, who is from Ghana, assumed the portfolio of Vice-President, paving the way for elections to be held to choose the Chairman of the Ghana Chapter at a date to be determined by the board.

It said the Executive Secretary now assumed the portfolio of Executive Director, while the tenure of office of the President had been extended to five years, after which elections would be held to choose the next President.

All presidents (chairmen) of the forum will automatically become patrons, on completion of their tenure.

The statement said these amendments became necessary because of the rapid growth of the forum in recent times.

Meanwhile, the 17th edition of the forum’s annual programme, dubbed 17th West Africa Nobles Networking Conference, comes off this month, at the Holy Trinity Spa and Health Farm, Sogakope in the Volta Region.

The motivational Speaker, Dr Emmanuel Dei-Tumi, will deliver the keynote address on Networking in the 21st Century, while Ghana’s Minister of Energy and Petroleum, Mr (Noble) Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, will be the Guest of Honour.

Also billed to speak on Investment Opportunities in Ghana; US Group As A Case Study, is the Executive Chairman of US Group of Companies, Noble Godfred Chief Medicine.

The Chancellor of Wisconsin University College, Ghana, Rev. (Dr) Paul Kofi Fynn, will attend the conference as the distinguished Chairman, and Nigeria’s High Commissioner in Accra Mr Ademola Onafowokan, is expected to be the Special Guest.

West Africa Nobles Forum (WANF) is a non-governmental, non-religious and non-profit-making organisation with its headquarters in Accra, Ghana. It was established in October, 2003 and has a membership of more than 1,000.

The sub-regional think tank, fashioned after the Philosophical Society of America, is made up of statesmen, legal luminaries, politicians, research fellows, technocrats, medical giants, professionals and captains of industry.

The patron of the forum is Dr Joyce Aryee, while the current President is the Chancellor of Wisconsin International University College, Rev. Dr Fynn.
