MANAGEMENT of the Registrar of Companies (ORC) have paid a courtesy call on the Vice-President, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, in Accra as part of efforts to collaborate to deepen business formalisation and expand company registration across the country.
The Registrar, Maame Samma Peprah, who led the team, briefed the Vice-President on the mandate of the ORC, ongoing reforms, and strategic initiatives aimed at bringing business registration services closer to citizens and investors.
Mrs Peprah also highlighted the core functions of her outfit, which, she said, included nationwide business registration and sensitisation clinics to promote formalisation of businesses, particularly within the informal sector.
She explained that the initiative was designed to improve access to registration services, educate entrepreneurs on the benefits of formalising their businesses, and increase compliance with Ghana's business registration laws.
Commitment
Mrs Peprah reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the government's reset agenda of creating a more inclusive, transparent, and vibrant business environment by ensuring that entrepreneurs and businesses across the country have easier access to business registration services.
The Vice-President, in her response, commended the Office of the Registrar of Companies for its dedication to improving Ghana's business environment through innovative outreach programmes and public education initiatives.
She advised them to continue implementing initiatives that would simplify business registration processes and make their services more accessible to entrepreneurs and businesses nationwide.
Prof. Opoku-Agyemang also urged them to strengthen their public communication and engagement efforts by consistently showcasing their achievements, reforms, and outreach activities.
Confidence
That, the Vice-President said, was because keeping citizens well informed about the work of the Office of the Registrar of Companies would strengthen public confidence, encourage voluntary compliance with business registration requirements, and enable more entrepreneurs to benefit from the services provided by the institution.
