The facility was constructed by the Ibn UL-Qaiyim Centre for Education, an Islamic charitable organisation to promote both Islamic and Western education.

Islamic doctrines

At an inaugural ceremony, the Proprietor of the school, Sheik Haruna Osman, said the purpose of the facility was to help promote the teaching and learning of Islamic doctrines hence the need to introduce schoolchildren to the teachings of Islam at the early stages of their lives.

That, according to Sheik Osman, would go a long way to shape their moral life in future.

Children’s education

An official from the Islamic Education Unit, Sheik Huseini Jamal, who graced the occasion, urged parents to invest in their children’s education.

He said it was worrying that some parents restricted their children from going to school, pointing out that it was only through education that people could get out of poverty.

Sheik Jamal said Islam, as a religion, encouraged its followers to seek knowledge, adding that many countries had developed due to the prominence they gave to education.
