The Member of Parliament (MP) for Sekyere Afram Plains, Mr Alex Adomako-Mensah, has presented a number of laptops to some basic schools in his constituency. The presentation forms part of his initiative to ensure quality education through the teaching and learning of Information and Communications Technology (ICT).
Whereas the Drobonso SDA Cluster of Schools were presented with five laptops, Drobonso Presbyterian JHS, Drobonso Roman Catholic (RC) JHS and Dagomba DA JHS, each received four.
The MP said there was no shred of doubt that education was the fulcrum of development and that advancement in the learning of ICT was crucial.
He advised the pupils to make good use of the laptops, promising them that plans were afoot to connect the constituents to the national grid to make it easier for them to use the computers.
He called on the teachers in the various schools to maintain the laptops and help broaden the frontiers of education through the teaching of ICT.
The heads of the beneficiary schools expressed gratitude to the MP for his support and appealed to him to add more of the laptops and quicken efforts in association with the district assembly to connect them to the national grid.
