‘Raise children in the fear of the Lord’

The Deputy Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Ms Dzifa Gomashie, has advised Christian women to raise their children in the fear of the Lord and endeavour to protect nature, which God has given to mankind.

Speaking during the Accra Catholic Archdiocesan Women Inaugural meeting in Accra on the theme: “The Responsibility of the Catholic Woman towards Creation,” the deputy minister said Christian women, especially the Catholics, need to provide good examples for their children, the society and the country at large.

The meeting is an annual event, which brings Catholic women in the Accra Archdioceses together to deliberate on development issues for the growth of the church.

Re-strategise

She advised women in the Catholic faith to re-strategise and reposition themselves for the development of the nation, and urged them to work towards the growth and development of the church, adding that “you have a set of principles that you need to abide with as a Catholic woman.”

The Archdiocesan President of Catholic Women Association, Mrs Cecila Yankey, called on the women to take good care of their children, especially their educational needs, to prepare them for the future.

“It’s our responsibility to take care of our children and extend it to others in society together with our husbands,” she added. — GNA
