Radford, Keeper’s House offer free screening

The Keeper’s House Chapel International, in collaboration with the Radford University College (RUC), has organised free medical screening for residents of and around Madina, a suburb of Accra.

The programme formed part of the first anniversary celebrations of the church.

Residents were screened for malaria, typhoid fever and hepatitis B. They also had their blood pressure, weight and height checked.

In addition to the screening, the church presented used clothing and cooked food to some residents who participated in the events.

The Executive Chairman of the RUC, Nana Dwomoh Sarpong, said the university had decided to support the church to provide free healthcare to the people of Madina.

The health needs of the people, he said, were very important, hence the need to support the exercise with laboratory technicians from the university.

He said Radford was not only interested in academic success but the health of the people as well.

The Chairman of the Management Committee of the first anniversary, Dr David Mensah, told the media “our vision is to fuel church growth through innovative harvesting of souls, grooming people to succeed in life. For people to succeed in life they have to be in good health”.

He said although the church was taking care of the spiritual aspect of people’s lives, it thought it wise to look at their physical aspect as well.

Mr Mensah said to make the church’s evangelistic work complete, “we decided to add this touch to it. So we seek to achieve wholeness of the person, spirit soul and body”.

The outcome of the screening, he said, was going to determine whether or not it was going to be an annual event of the church.
