President charges security bosses to halt emerging challenges
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on Monday charged heads of security agencies and the Ministers for the Interior and National Security to find a lasting solution to the emerging security challenges in the country.
He gave the charge when he held a crucial meeting with heads and the two ministers to review the security situation in the country following the upsurge in armed robbery.

The meeting was held behind closed doors.
According to a source close to the meeting, the President was of the conviction that Ghanaians deserved to live in peace and harmony so that they could do their legitimate businesses without let or hindrance.
Following the meeting, the source said the military would work with the police for a month after which further security measures would be announced to strengthen the security situation.
Royal Motors
On February 27, this year, four suspected armed robbers allegedly stormed Royal Motors Ghana Limited, an automobile company at the Industrial Area in Accra, and made away with hundreds of cedis of the company’s sales.
Like an action movie, after the attack, the robbers snatched a BMW saloon car from a man, after they had shot him, and ran away with the booty.
They were said to have fired warning shots to scare bystanders from interfering with their operation.
Before they ended their operation, the robbers allegedly dismantled the CCTV camera installed on the premises of the company to erase any traces of their activities.
Delta Agro Company
Barely 24 hours after the movie-style robbery at Royal Motors at the North Industrial Area in Accra, a cashier was on February 28 gunned down by suspected armed robbers in Tema.
Ahmed Safiadeen, 54, a cashier at Delta Agro Company, was returning to the office after a bank transaction in which he had reportedly withdrawn GH¢200,000 from the Tema Industrial Area branch of the Zenith Bank to pay the salaries of workers and meet other expenses of the company.
The four suspected robbers are said to have trailed Safiadeen, a Lebanese, after the bank transaction about 10 a.m.
On catching up with him near the Delta Agro Company, they shot him in his Toyota Corolla saloon car, with registration number GN 1174 -12, before bolting with the money in their four-wheel-drive vehicle.
