The National Lottery Authority (NLA), the sole regulator and operator of lottery in Ghana, has re-engaged SIMNET Ghana Ltd to provide NLA with online lottery services.

Per the new engagement, SIMNET would operate alongside the existing online lottery service provider, LOTS Services, in a  move expected to boost the revenue generation by the NLA.

A release issued in Accra and signed by the Director General of the NLA, Brigadier General Martin Ahiaglo (retd), said “NLA is confident that the re-engagement of SIMNET would broaden the retailer penetration throughout the country and evidently accord our valued patrons visibility and access to NLA’s point of sale terminals (POSTs) with ease.”

It also noted that with SIMNET back in the fray, lotto marketing companies (LMCs) in the country are guaranteed “greater efficiency designed to let their businesses thrive.”

POST Repair Centres

The release said POSTs’ repair and swapping centres will be established in all NLA regional and district offices as well as selected markets, to ensure proximity of services and deliverables to its LMCs.

Subsequently, it said the NLA had also procured new POSTs to boost operations, adding that all outstanding deployments will be completed this year. “Similarly, LMCs with old POSTs will have these replaced”, the release said.

It said commission payment will now be done within a week after the end of the month.

Wins payment

The release said in due course, LMCs will be able to pay winners from their business locations.

“We would also like our valued patrons to note that since May 2015, winners did not have to wait 14 days to liquidate their tickets. Tickets can be liquidated within 24 hours after the draw”, it said.

New game/channel

The release said in the last five months, NLA had introduced two new exciting products, Soccer Cash and Mobile 5/90, to ensure that its patrons were “spoiled for choice.”

Soccer Cash, it said, was developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth and Sports to support and promote sports in the country.

The release said the “Mobile Lottery Platform allows our valued patrons to register and download 5/90 Fixed Odds Games Applications onto their smartphones and play the games using funds from their mobile wallet”.

It said POSTs of NLA have been branded with the NLA logo for easy identification and asked the public to patronise only NLA lottery products and/or games.
