Nation mourns KABA as unsung hero goes home December 16
A long retinue of mourners - government representatives led by Vice President Dr. Mahahmudu Bawumia, politicians from across the political spectrum of Ghana, traditional rulers, the clergy, business people, family, friends and musicians young and old turned up at the one week funeral observation of the late broadcaster, Kwadwo Asare Baffour Acheampong, aka KABA, in Accra on Saturday.

The solemn event held at the forecourt of the Multimedia Group Limited offices at Kokomlemle, lived true to the gentle and amiable spirit of the late 37-year-old broadcaster, uniting people from varied divides - former and present Multimedia staff coming together, rival politicians NPP and NDC hugging and patting one another, footballers, musicians young and old and from varying genres - all turned up to pay their last respects.

His wife, Valentina Ofori Afriyie, also a broadcaster, cut a melancholic look and appeared to be in thoughts of a distant drama, wedged between elderly family members clad in mourning clothes.

His mates from various social groups and schools, including the Vandals of the Commonwealth Hall of the University of Ghana, were all on hand.
The family announced December 15, 16, and 17 as the days for the final funeral rites and burial. A venue for the funeral will however be announced later.

KABA, as he was affectionately called, died suddenly on November 18th, 2017 while being transported to the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital after a short complaint of ill health.
He was survived by his wife and seven-month-old daughter.
