Lands Commission boss calls for more support
The acting Executive Secretary of the Lands Commission, Dr Wilfred K. Anim-Odame, has asked for more financial support to enable the commission to effectively discharge its mandate.

He said the continuous reliance on annual budgetary support was not enough for the commission to deliver an effective and efficient land administration system in the country.
Dr Odame made the call when the Parliamentary Select Committee on Lands and Forestry paid a visit to the Lands Commission in Accra.
The visit served as a platform for the committee to take a tour of the Lands Commission’s current premises and the national head office building under construction.
Dr Odame said the commission was re-engineering its business processes to reduce the cost of land acquisition in the country.
According to him, the commission was working to reduce the turn-around time for land title registration in the country.
By so doing, he said, the commission would improve on its customer satisfaction and redeem its lost image before customers.
The Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, Alhaji Inusah Fuseini, said the Second Land Administration Project (LAP-2) sought to improve the design and implementation of the land registration project.
He said the construction of the new complex would ensure a better working environment and facilitate a one-stop- shop concept which sought to eliminate or reduce personal contact between the public and officials in land transactions.
