Kuntanase, Jachie Police face ejection
THE Kuntanase and Jachie police face ejection from their residences by the end of January. This follows ejection notices served on the stations. They are to look for new accommodation as the owners want to take their properties back after years of renting them out to the police.

A total of 23 police personnel—15 from Jachie and eight from Kuntanase—would be affected by the end of this month.
The owners are taking their properties back because of pressure from their families. Family members want the properties to be shared.
The Asokwa Divisional Commander, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Charles Oduro Botchwey, who disclosed that at Kuntanase, appealed to the government, through the district assembly to come to their aid to avoid a disaster.
The divisional commander disclosed that when he spoke at a maiden get together organised by the Kuntanase District Command of the Ghana Police Service over the weekend.
The Jachie facility, rented over 30 years ago, was the first police station for the community and currently houses the personnel for the station.
ACP Botchwey said they had pleaded with the owners of the facilities to give them more time to look for new accommodation but they insisted they want them out by the end of the month.
He said one of the major challenges confronting the Police Service was accommodation, and called on traditional authorities in the district and other stakeholders in the country to find a lasting solution to it to ensure that the police would have peace to undertake their daily activities.
“Currently, there are many personnel ready to be posted to the various police stations but lack of accommodation is making it very difficult to get them posted to their new stations,” ACP Botchwey said.
The Bosomtwe District Commander, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Edward Osei, in his welcome address, commended the police personnel for their dedication and commitment to duty over the years and urged them to keep it up.
He urged them to ensure that they maintained professionalism at all times to win the confidence of the people.
Mr Osei appealed to the district assembly to support the police with the needed infrastructure to enable them to work comfortably and serve the people well.
The acting President of the Kuntanase Traditional Council, Nana Premoh Kwagyan, pledged the support of the various stakeholders in the district and the country to ensure that the police lived peacefully to do their job of protecting the people and enforcing the laws of the nation.
