Invest in Goil, it’s yours - CEO appeals to Ghanaians
The Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Oil Company Limited (GOIL), Mr Kwame Osei-Prempeh, has appealed to Ghanaians to see the company as their own and invest in it for positive returns.
He said critical investments made in bitumen production and gas, as well as the modernisation and expansion of its infrastructure, would yield enough dividends and open employment avenues for the youth.

Speaking at the inauguration of a new zonal office complex of the company at Kpone, near Tema, the CEO said the company was on course to modernise its infrastructure to be in tune with its expansion drive.
Facilities
The office complex will serve the company’s operations in the Tema business enclave, the Ashaiman, Kpone and Somanya districts, and the Volta and Oti regions.
It has offices for all departments, and is equipped with other facilities like a canteen, kitchen, as well as cubicles for a bank and customer interaction.
The project was supervised by GOIL’s own consultants and engineers.
Modernising infrastructure
Mr Osei-Prempeh said the modernisation programme being undertaken by the company also included the upgrading of its service stations, improvement in customer service and ensuring product quality and quantity.
He expressed the hope that the new zonal office would facilitate smooth business transactions and boost productivity and morale of staff.
Opportunities
The Board Chairman of the company, Mr Kwamena Bartels, said the opening of the office was in response in part to the increasing growth in business and expansion of the Tema Port, which prompted the company to prepare adequately to capitalise on the opportunities.

He said the board, management and staff were positive about the company’s future, and were determined to position it to capitalise on new opportunities as the economy rebounded from the effects of the COVID-19 outbreak.
Relationship
The Gbetsele Mantse, Nii Tei Kojo Amanqwah Sune I, who was the special guest of honour, expressed gratitude to GOIL for establishing good relationship with traditional authorities in the communities in which they operated.
He assured the company that he would play a role in encouraging Ghanaians to invest in the company.
There were solidarity messages by the Managing Director of GCB Bank, Mr Kofi Adomako, and the Chamber of Petroleum Consumers (COPEC).
