Grand Pixels Photography awards open for entries
The 2019 Grand Pixels photography awards - a celebration of photography and photographers who have demonstrated extraordinary commitment and outstanding contribution to the photography industry - have opened for entries.
The awards established by Remex Communications and delivered in partnership with the Association of Professional Photographers (APPG) aims to highlight and recognise major achievement in the field of photography over the years.

The essence of the Awards is identifying photographers whose pictures have played a transformative role in Ghana as well as championed the African story while using innovative techniques in their narrative.
The awards scheduled for 14th December 2019 at Mmofra Place, Dzorwulu next to Marvel Mini Golf Course, Accra features 11 categories in specific genres.
A jury of independent professionals, selected for their experience, expertise and genre perspective will evaluate all entries and adjudicate on winners who will receive their awards at the climax of the Accra Photo Week on 14th December.
The categories for entry include Advertising, Architecture, Nature, Travel/tourism and Sports. The rest are editorial (magazine), Events, Tradition and Culture, Fine Art, and Oy3man (nation builder); where photographers are expected to submit both a series of images and a body of text that tells the story behind the images, promoting or addressing a social cause or national issue.
In addition, a lifetime achievement award will be presented to a photographer who has played a major contribution to the field of photography over a sustained period.
The Project lead, Dyck Antwi Kesse said photography is the only avenue to store and relive our memories and it was about time to we recognise and appreciate them for the tireless effort they have made over the years.
"We are elevating the status of photography through a celebration and appreciation of a craft that ensures our memories don’t die and that we are able to relive them with a bonus of nostalgia," he said.
“The grand pixels awards will be presented to deserving individuals and organizations in celebration of the photography industry’s achievements, over the years”, he added.
Interested photographers may submit their work through November 30 across the country to be considered for the awards.
