GLICO climaxes 25th anniversary with awards night

During the dinner dance and ceremony, management and staff who had performed exceptionally well were rewarded with plaques, plots of land, LCD television sets, fridges, laptops, among other things.

The Managing Director of GLICO Life, Mr E. Forkuo Kyei, said the company had made remarkable achievement in 25 years despite the numerous challenges.

He said the company had grown into a group status with six subsidiaries namely GLICO Life, GLICO General, GLICO Healthcare, GLICO Financial, GLICO Properties and GLICO Pensions  that have consistently developed highly innovative products. `

Mr Forkuo Kyei said with the vision to grow, develop and become a leading life insurer in Ghana, the company through innovation and excellent service delivery had become the leading privately owned life insurance company in Ghana.

He expressed his gratitude to customers and stakeholders for their unflinching support throughout the past 25 years. 

The GLICO Life Company which was established in 1987 as a specialist life insurance company was formerly called Gemini Life Insurance Company.

The Executive Chairman of GLICO Group, Mr Kwame Achampong-Kyei, expressed his gratitude to the board, management, staff and sales executives who had worked to make the company a success story. 

He said with dedication, teamwork and tenacity, the company had a firm foundation on which it could stand to embark on the next chapter of the company’s growth.

The Commissioner of National Insurance Company, Mrs Nyamikeh Kyiamah, said the National Insurance Commission (NIC) was working on a number of reforms to expand the micro insurance sector so as to reach out to the informal sector employees who were mostly not covered by any form of insurance.

Mrs Kyiamah said the reforms were intended to improve the effectiveness, soundness and stability of the insurance market in Ghana.

She urged GLICO Life to take advantage of the new reforms to further expand its operations.
