The suspect, Paul Gala, was arrested last Saturday on his farm by some residents of Blema.

Paul Gala is said to have gone into hiding after allegedly shooting his two brothers to death on Thursday, November 3, this year.

Police

Confirming the incident to the Daily Graphic in an interview, the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District Police Commander, Assistant Superintendent of Police Mr Francis Numadu, said  at about 2 p.m. on Thursday, November 3, this year, the police had a call that someone had killed two of his brothers at Blema.

He said when the police arrived at the crime scene, they found the bodies of the deceased, Kakyire Daari, 68, and Kumor-Kanwur, 65, both farmers lying in a pool of blood.

The bodies were taken to the Sawla Government Hospital for preservation.

ASP Numadu said the police later mounted surveillance for the suspect and also asked the people  to assist in the search.

According to him, the Blema search party succeeded in apprehending the suspect on his farm around 1:30 p.m on Saturday, November 5, 2016.

Interrogation

Upon interrogation ASP Numadu said the suspect confessed committing the crime.

The suspect claimed to have committed the act after an oracle had revealed to him that his two brothers had been disturbing him spiritually.

Acording to the suspect, “his two brothers have been killing him spiritually through witchcraft”, the police said.

The commander said the suspect then confronted one of his two brothers and shot him dead.

He subsequently rushed to the house of the other one and shot him too.
